Langkawi Cable Car

You must visit Langkawi Cable Car during your trip to Langkawi Island. On a sunny day, you can see parts of Thailand towards the north and Indonesia towards the south-west. The cable car ride up the hill takes about 20 minutes and it's really a fascinating ride.

At the top, there are two stations as well as a viewing bridge that let you take in all of Langkawi. The top station is about 708 meter high from sea level and the middle station elevation is about 650 meters.

The view is just amazing and if it is cloudy you should wait for a while till the clouds move away. You don't want to miss the opportunity to see the view. When I went up, it was bit cloudy. Luckily after a while, the sky clear up and can see nice blue ocean of the Andaman Sea.

The whole area is covered with thick virgin rain forest and it is rich with fauna and floras. During your ascend to the middle station, you could observe closely the unique rock formation of Mount Mat Chincang's range which formed 500 million years ago.
