Hutton Lodge is located in one of the best locations in Penang - at the heart of the city, just off Penang Road. It is ideally situated within walking distance of George Town's many tourist attractions.

Within a 5-minutes walk away from Hutton Lodge, there are choices of restaurants and food courts serving popular Penang street food at Jalan Leith and New World Park at Swatow Lane.

Street markets are opened until late afternoon and closeby is the KOMTAR shopping complex and Prangin Mall. Reggae bars and cafes are also found on Jalan Chulia during the evenings.

All sightseeings are within walking distance from Hutton Lodge.

There is the Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion with a daily guided tour at 10.00am and 3.00pm. The Penang Museum and Penang State Art Gallery at Dewan Sri Pinang is also nearby.

There are morning markets in Little India, Jalan Campbell and Chowrasta wet market.

Hutton Lodge Penang | Getting There

From Ferry Terminal:

One can take the local buses and ask for the bus which takes you to Jalan Penang. Alight off the bus at Chowrasta Market.

Then look for Jalan Hutton which is just one street next to the Police Station.

From Airport:

There are local buses but you will have to walk to the main road. Ask for directions as there is a through road and the locals will tell you. The buses go to KOMTAR. From KOMTAR ask for directions to Jalan Penang.

Keep walking till you reach the Police Headquarters and then passing it you will see Jalan Hutton on the left. The bus from the airport maybe on the way to the Jetty so ask the driver if he can drop you at the junction of Jalan Penang and Jalan Chulia.

Taxis from airport:

It will cost M$35 and drop you at our doorstep. Ask for Jalan Hutton off Jalan Penang (opposite Jalan Campbell)

From the Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal in Penang, :

Local buses are available to KOMTAR but you may have to wait a while and of course it is cheap. Ask to be dropped at KOMTAR or infact the bus maybe on the way to the Jetty so ask if he can drop you at the junction of Jalan Chulia and Jalan Penang.

Then follow instructions as above. If the drivers says KOMTAR then alight at KOMTAR and then walk on Jalan Penang till you pass the Police Headquarters. Then you will see Jalan Hutton the left opposite Jalan Campbell. A taxi from the Sungai Nibong Bus Terminal will cost M$20.

Taxis are metered but you often have to pay a fixed price.

From KOMTAR (Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak):

10 minutes walk to Jalan Penang towards north direction, after Mydin department store. It will be the second street after the Police Headquarters.
